IBPS started the Common Written Examination (CWE) in 2011 for recruiting officers and clerks and since then it’s been conducted every year. The name of the exam is IBPS CWE PO MT VIII 2018 and it accepts online application through its official website.

This is the tentative calendar released officially. However, the governing body may change or re-issue the new IBPS PO calendar dates for the exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification, Age eligibility and Nationality are the important things to know about before appearing for the exam.

Educational Qualification

A candidate with a graduation degree in any of the streams ( B.A., B.COM. B.TECH, B.SC etc.) from a University recognized by the Government of India or any equivalent qualification recognized by the central government is eligible for the IBPS PO exam. The candidates must possess a valid mark sheet with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD). Knowledge of computer is a must for the job as well as for the IBPS PO exam which is conducted online.

Age Eligibility

The candidates who are applying for IBPS PO exam should not be less than 20 years and not more than 30 years. However, there is age relaxation for some categories as per the government rules.

REGISTRATION

IBPS would officially notify for the IBPS PO exam in August 2018. The online registration for the exam will be from August to September 2018. The interested and eligible candidates can register themselves online on the official website of IBPS i.e., www.ibps.in

APPLICATION FORM

The application form of the IBPS PO exam is to be filled online on the official website of IBPS. Candidates applying online must have

  • A valid Email-Id,

  • Photograph and Signature scanned in a prescribed size,

  • An application fee must be paid online.

             The application fee for

  • SC/ST/PWD is Rs.100/-

  • General and Others is 600/-

IBPS PO EXAM PATTERN

The IBPS PO exam is divided into two parts- Tier 1 or IBPS Preliminary Exam and Tier 2 or Main Exam followed by a face-to-face interview process.

IBPS Preliminary Exam

The IBPS PO preliminary exam is of 1 hour and is conducted online. This exam consists three sections i.e., English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning having a total of 100 questions with a maximum score of 100 marks. The important thing to keep in mind is that this exam has a negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.

IBPS Main Exam

This year IBPS has added a descriptive paper in its main exam. The main Exam is also conducted online. It consists of 4 sections- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, English Language and Data Analysis and Interpretation having a total of 155 questions with a maximum score of 200 marks. The total time duration is 180 minutes for objective and 30 minutes for the descriptive exam. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

After qualifying the online Preliminary and Main Examination, candidates will be called for a face-to-face interview which will carry 100 marks. To qualify for the interview a candidate is required to score a minimum of 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).

The allotted time duration for an interview is 15-20 minutes in which a panel of bank officials will ask questions about themselves i.e., the participating organisations, banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc.

The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in mains examination and interview. The weight of the final score is given on the marks obtained in mains examination and interview in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.
